Completing our basic obedience training and behavior modification course is a prerequisite for all advanced courses.

  • Training is performed off leash and around distractions like people, kids, and other dogs. The dog and owner/handler will develop the skills, focus, and confidence to handle most situations they might encounter off leash in a safe and controlled environment.

  • A personal protector or bodyguard is a well-mannered and disciplined companion. Applejack K-9 Academy offers protective training geared towards the family or business environment. Each dog is customized for the life style and environment it is to live in.

  • Our two onsite Utility & Agility courses offer a variety of jumps, tunnels, walls, and specially designed obstacles. Utility & Agility is designed to build stronger trust between the dog and handler. Our preliminary obstacle course is available to anyone who has started Basic Obedience.

  • These courses are designed to introduce you and your dog to the techniques used by Search and Rescue Teams. You and your dog will become a team. Our tracking groups always enjoy the time they spend in this course and often form a bond with each other.

 

Pricing

 

  • We talk with you to determine any problems you may be encountering and develop a customized training package.

  • We board and train your dog at our facility for 7 business days.  Each day your dog will receive professional training, exercise, and play.  We will teach your dog a 13-command routine and modify the behavior you’re having problems with. 

  • Upon completion we will reintroduce you to your dog and you will receive weekly private lessons.  As your handling skills progress, you will move into weekly group lessons.

  • Unlike other obedience classes, we do not set a limit on the number of classes needed to complete your training package.  It takes what it takes.

Training Style

Our training style focuses on behavior and attitude, not just knowing commands. We use vocal praise instead of food rewards or clicks.

We have been in business over 30 years and are known for our expertise in dog psychology.

 

We specialize in behavior modification and will help you address problems like:

  • Aggression

  • Separation anxiety

  • Excessive chewing

  • Freedom drive (running away)

Dogs that complete our basic obedience package are eligible for boarding in our professionally staffed facility, which features:

  • Large indoor and outdoor runs

  • Infrared heat

  • Skylights

  • Dogs in our care dogs are fed IAMs™ dog food, or the food you provide, and receive daily walks and play sessions.

After completing private training, you and your dog will attend group training sessions. Group training classes are held throughout the week and on weekends. Advanced training courses are generally held in the Fall and Spring on weekends.
